Establish the Look
With SpeedGrade OnSet cinematographers have a simple means of establishing looks right at the beginning of the project. The application provides easy-to-use tools for grading still-frames or single images in a longer sequence. SpeedGrade OnSet runs on MacOS X 10.5 (Intel) and Windows.
SpeedGrade OnSet supports all file formats commonly used in the industry, such as Quicktime, DPX and many other formats. With built in RealTime RAW support, RAW files from all digital cinema cameras used in production today are easily used as source material for your looks. RAW support includes the ARRI D21, DALSA, Phantom, RED, Silicon Imaging SI-2K and Weisscam formats. For more information on RAW processing, please click here.
Evolve the Look
SpeedGrade OnSet uses IRIDAS' non-destructive grading technology: Looks are applied to the image, not burned into it. Looks remain editable at all times: they can be saved, modified, and re-used on new images
Exchange Looks
SpeedGrade OnSet offers numerous ways to share looks. Every .Look file is saved with a JPEG or DPX image for visual reference. Look files can be applied in IRIDAS FrameCycler playback applications for graded dailies or sent to colorists using SpeedGrade XR or SpeedGrade DI. SpeedGrade OnSet exports to a broad variety of LUT formats supported by third-party grading tools. With the new ASC CDL export in SpeedGrade 2009, grading parameters can be communicated to all CDL-enabled workflows.
On Set Workflow
SpeedGrade OnSet includes support for a number of hardware devices, including the Cine-tal Cinemage monitor series, which enable direct preview and interactive manipulation of the look on a live video signal. With numerous LUT export options, SpeedGrade OnSet supports devices from Blackmagic Design (HDLink), FilmLight (TrueLight Box), S.Two and Thomson (LUTher).
SpeedGrade OnSet supports the CP-200-BK and CP-300 Wave control panels from Tangent Devices.
SpeedGrade OnSet is a software tool for look design and previs in pre-production or during shooting. SpeedGrade OnSet applies non-destructive looks to images that work like virtual filters for your images.
