IRIDAS Announces Support for
Tangent Control Panels
See Hardware Integration with SpeedGrade Applications at
IBC
Munich: August 28, 2007 ... IRIDAS, makers of the
SpeedGrade non-destructive color grading applications, today
announced support across the IRIDAS product line for the
complete Tangent CP200 control panel series favored by
colorists and postproduction artists around the world.
Filmmakers can now use the Tangent CP200 BK trackball panels
with SpeedGrade OnSet, and the full line of Tangent's 200
modular panels with SpeedGrade HD and SpeedGrade DI.

The Tangent CP200 series offers users an ergonomic,
attractive, solidly constructed solution for controlling
color-grading software. The panels feature precision
machined aluminum faceplates, high contrast ratio displays,
and robust high-resolution optical rotary encoders. The
modular approach allows artists to select the panels which
best suit their individual requirements.
The SpeedGrade applications provide a complete color
pipeline from preproduction through finishing by allowing
filmmakers to create and share editable looks as tiny
metadata files. The integration with the Tangent CP200
offers full mapping for the panel inputs including the BK
trackball panel and the TS transport control panel. Artists
can customize the mapping assignments as required, for
example to adjust for left or right-handed users.
"We have followed the development of SpeedGrade with a
growing interest." said Chris Rose, Technical Director at
Tangent Devices. "We keep hearing good things about the
applications and we're very pleased that support for the
CP200 panels has now been added."
"Color grading is a tactile experience and so the look and
feel of the hardware really matter," said Lin Kayser, IRIDAS
CEO. "We're delighted to be able to offer our users the
option of working with the Tangent control panels. Colorists
need quality and we feel that Tangent controls together with
the SpeedGrade applications offer exactly that: quality."
Visitors to IBC 2007 can see the Tangent panels at work with
SpeedGrade DI at Ciprico (booth 7.709) and with SpeedGrade
OnSet at Cine-tal (booth 7.940c). For more information
