SPIN Turns to FrameCycler 2007 for Uncompressed Playback
Site License Installed at Award-Winning VFX Facility's
Toronto Location
Toronto: May 15, 2007 ... IRIDAS, who introduced the
first software-based solution for uncompressed playback in
2001, announced that SPIN Productions has added a universal
site-license of FrameCycler Professional 2007 at its
facility in Toronto. With the purchase, arranged through
Ordigraphe, IRIDAS' Canadian reseller, artists and
supervisors at SPIN have immediate access to real-time
playback of uncompressed content at HD and 2K resolutions.
The 2007 edition of FrameCycler Professional offers a
more intuitive interface and numerous functionality
enhancements. Playlists can be built and edited right on the
timeline and both LUTs and .Looks can be loaded with image
sequences for graded, calibrated playback.
"FrameCycler has been our Swiss army knife for viewing
frame-based materials, said Richard Keats, Systems Manager
at SPIN. "We have been really pleased with all of the
features and great product support. I highly recommend
FrameCycler 2007 for anyone who works with frames or
film-based file formats and needs to deal with log or linear
color space issues."
SPIN, an award-winning boutique facility specializing in
feature film VFX, is taking advantage of FrameCycler's
multi-platform capabilities and running it on 32-bit and
64-bit Windows machines as well as Mac OS X systems. "SPIN
is a leader in VFX work," said Corey Kawucha of Ordigraphe.
"They have a fast, data-driven pipeline and they needed a
tool they could just plug in without a glitch. FrameCycler
was the answer."
FrameCycler Professional 2007 runs on Mac, Windows, and
Linux, and is a member of the FrameCycler family of
uncompressed playback applications. For more information
