Munich: December 12, 2006 … IRIDAS, the industry leader in uncompressed playback technologies, today announced that PICTORION das werk GmbH has purchased site licenses of FrameCycler Professional for of all of its locations. With FrameCycler Professional PICTORION’s artists in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, and Düsseldorf now have immediate access to uncompressed frames sequences with full review and analysis capabilities.

“FrameCycler is a proven technology and we feel there is nothing comparable to it available on the market,” said Roger Beck, CIO at PICTORION. “FrameCycler combines ease-of-use with all of the preview and quality control tools we need.”

“PICTORION das Werk provides classical postproduction services for advertising and feature films,” said Jürgen Firsching of DVE, IRIDAS’ reseller in Germany who handled the sale. “PICTORION is highly respected for work such as the VFX for Roman Polanski’s ‘The Pianist.’ PICTORION now has the largest single FrameCycler installation to date in Germany.”

“Currently we are using FrameCycler in our work on ‘One Way,’ a thriller directed by Reto Salimbeni, and ‘In the Name of the King’ starring Jason Statham and Burt Reynolds,” said Roger Beck. “FrameCycler reads every format we use, so we never have to waste time on file conversions,” explained Beck. “We especially love the timeline-based interface. It gives us a highly visual, totally flexible way of working.”

With a full slate of projects in the pipeline, the future looks very good for PICTORION das werk and FrameCycler will continue to play its part. “We are currently testing FrameCycler DDS for review of longer sequences,” said Roger Beck. “We like what we’re seeing.”
