IRIDAS to Unveil SpeedGrade HD at IBC

Video-based Grading and Conform for Mac and Windows

Munich: August 29, 2006 … IRIDAS, the industry leader in non-destructive grading technologies, has announced the world-premier of SpeedGrade HD at IBC in Amsterdam, September
8 - 12, 2006. The new application offers real-time primary and secondary color grading capabilities along with EDL conform on the Mac and Windows platforms. Priced at 9,999 EUR, SpeedGrade HD is an ideal film finishing solution for filmmakers working in video formats or as an assistant workstation paired with SpeedGrade DI.

SpeedGrade HD uses IRIDAS' proven non-destructive grading technology so that grading, masks, and other data are saved as XML scripts. This significantly reduces storage requirement and all work to remains fully editable until final rendering. SpeedGrade HD auto-conforms Edit Decision Lists (EDLs) from editing applications such as Final Cut Pro allowing for a complete video-based postproduction workflow on a single workstation.

The application combines a user-friendly interface with a powerful toolset including full primary grading capabilities and up to six secondaries for precise adjustment of user-selected color ranges. SpeedGrade HD reads and writes IRIDAS' .Look file format providing a simple means for communicating creative looks back and forth with cinematographers using SpeedGrade OnSet.

"While the market for high-end DI applications continues to grow, we're seeing a tremendous demand for affordable QuickTime-based solutions," said Lin Kayser, IRIDAS CEO. "SpeedGrade HD fills the gap and brings a whole new level of film finishing power to the desktop."

SpeedGrade HD runs on workstation-class machines with Mac OS X (10.4) or Windows 2000/XP and requires NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 (or higher) graphics. SpeedGrade HD will retail for 9,999 EUR. Pre-release pricing, in effect for IBC, is 8,500 EUR per seat.
