FrameCycler DI - A Digital Lab for Dailies and Processing

FrameCycler DI offers a comprehensive toolset for processing and primary color grading of uncompressed and RAW file formats. FrameCycler DI is aimed at facilities and digital labs that review, analyze and process large volumes of digital material, often directly originating from digital movie cameras or film scans. FrameCycler DI natively plays virtually any file format used in the industry, including all RAW formats from digital cinema cameras. FrameCycler DI includes powerful primary color grading controls for first light or best light grading of unprocessed material for dailies or generation of offline proxies.

The Color Pipeline

FrameCycler works hand in hand with SpeedGrade in the IRIDAS Color Pipeline. FrameCycler DI can directly re-use .Look files generated in SpeedGrade OnSet, to ensure the creative intent of the cinematographer becomes the basis for the digital dailies. Through its shared timeline format, FrameCycler DI can act as an assistant workstation for SpeedGrade DI and SpeedGrade XR, for shot preparation and client review.

RealTime RAW

Your digital lab cannot afford to create a separate workflow for every digital camera used in production today. IRIDAS, through partnerships with all major digital cinema camera manufacturers, supports all digital cinema camera RAW files directly. This eliminates the costly transcoding process usually associated with these cameras and avoids camera-specific tools in your workflow.

Our unique RealTime RAW algorithms employ the power of the GPU to deliver full 16 bit render quality output up to uncompressed 4K RAW at 30fps.

Stereoscopy FrameCycler DI builds on our pioneering work in stereoscopy to give you a comprehensive toolset for creating stereoscopic dailies. Using our DualStream features on a stereo project is a painless process. Stereo conform and grading work intuitively without the need to copy timelines or grading presets between the eyes. Quick tools to compensate for mirroring and temporal offset take the pain out of processing large amounts of material fresh from the field. For stereoscopic review, FrameCycler DI supports virtually all dual stream display technologies on the market, such as dual HD-SDI, interlaced or shutter glasses.

Compatible with Mac, LINUX and Windows, FrameCycler DI gives you the flexibility to integrate with your favoritve OS and enables you to work with platform-specific codecs such as Apple ProRes.

Playback and Rendering

The integrated render farm management in FrameCycler DI gives you powerful options to offload transcoding and rendering tasks to MetaRender nodes running on separate machines. This speeds up transcoding times for generating offline material and enables fast rendering for final online.
